Visitors leave when they cannot find a product or page quickly; this page covers adding the Site Search Bar box to your Wix site, its settings, how results are chosen, the dashboard, plans and privacy.
Open the widget's settings panel in the editor; publish again after changing anything.
#116dff.The widget searches about a quarter of a second after typing stops, across every content type you ticked. Results are grouped by type (Products, Blog, Pages, Events, Services, Forum) with a match count; Show all N in Products → opens one type, 20 at a time, with Load more and ← All results.
Keyboard shortcut: on any page with the search box, visitors can press Ctrl+K (⌘+K on a Mac) to jump to it, or / when they are not typing. Neither key is taken while someone is typing in a text field or text editor. If a page has two boxes, the first visible one gets the focus.
Ranking starts from the index score and favours titles that equal, start with or contain the query; sold-out products show Sold out and rank lower. The index matches fuzzily, so small misspellings usually still work. A Korean query with no match is retried with the closest word from your content, shown as Showing results for: ….
On Pro the panel adds tabs (All plus one per matching type), Suggestions: chips while typing (featured terms, popular searches, then result titles; up to five), Try: chips in the empty box (up to eight) and a Popular right now list when nothing matched.
The app's page in your Wix dashboard shows Free plan or Pro plan in its header, next to Upgrade to Pro.
Every plan sees the last 30 days; 90 days is Pro. Tiles show Searches, Zero-result rate, Avg. response and Unique queries, with tables of Top queries and Zero-result queries (with Map to a term shortcuts into synonyms). On the Free plan, sites that added the app after the 12 October 2026 update see the top 3 zero-result queries of the last 7 days, with a count of the rest; Pro, and sites that added the app earlier, see the top 20 for the chosen period. A weekly box reads This week: 42 searches (+7 vs. the week before) and names what found nothing. Export CSV (Pro) downloads top queries, zero-result queries and daily counts. Only the latest 5,000 searches count.
Enter a Term and Synonyms (comma-separated), up to 20 per term, and click Add. Searching a term also searches its synonyms, and the other way round. Rows have an Enabled switch and Delete.
Terms shown as visitors start typing and in the empty box; up to 20, 80 characters each. Click one to remove it.
Type a Search term, click Find items, then Pin for “term” to put an item first for that term or Hide to drop it from every result list. Up to 200 rules.
Free: search across all six content types, grouping, show-all paging, every widget setting and 30 days of analytics. For sites that added the app after the 12 October 2026 update, the zero-result list shows the top 3 queries of the last 7 days.
Pro ($7.99/month, or $6.49/month billed yearly): the top 20 zero-result queries, synonyms, featured suggestions, autocomplete, the popular-searches fallback, result-type tabs, pinned results and hidden items, 90-day history and CSV export. Upgrade from the dashboard; the plan belongs to one site.
Searches are logged to a Search Logs collection in your own CMS: query, result count, response time, content types and time. No visitor names, IP addresses or device identifiers are stored.
